Beyond the Classroom

OEL

The core strength, the industrial exposure, by way of the field work training/industry visit has given the programmes a differentiating advantage over the other institutes degrees. This has been made possible by the co-operation and the personal interest shown by the staff of the organizations involved in training and molding our students and in bringing about a turnaround in their prospective careers. Students are sent to companies in batches accompanied by members of the faculty.

MII

MACFAST Industry Interface (MII) is an interactive and collaborative arrangement between academic institutions and business corporations for the achievement of certain mutually inclusive goals and objectives. The industry-academia interface transacts with the transfer of knowledge and experience/technology. With the idea of acquiring knowledge and cultivating the right scientific temperament as well as developing technical skills by providing specialized in-house training in the diverse fields of Computer Science, the Department of Computer Applications has introduced a one week MII programme at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. The Interface programme helps in building up a robust, high quality, interdependent, long-term relationship between industry and academy leading to a win–win situation for both.
